Sixers Discussing Jahlil Okafor Trade With New Orleans

  • Published in Chicago Hoops
The Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans are reported to be in discussions on a deal that would send Jahlil Okafor to the Pelicans.

New Orleans needs to upgrade the talent level that they have around Anthony Davis.

Philadelphia has been looking to move Okafor with Joel Embiid entrenched as their franchise center.

Okafor is averaging 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 23.1 minutes of playing time in 34 games. He can be expected to increase those number significantly with starter minutes.

New Orleans may look to dump the contracts of Alexis Ajinca or Omer Asik in the deal. Philadelphia is looking to get back a first round draft pick.

Davis (Chicago Perspectives) and Okafor (Chicago Whitney Young) both starred in the Chicago Public League in high school.
