Courtney Hargrays Dies From Injuries Sustained In January Car Accident

Former Chicago Marshall head coach Courtney Hargrays has died from injuries sustained in a car accident on January 17.

Hargrays was driving on the Eisenhower expressway at around 2:15 a.m. when the car he was driving left the outbound lanes and up an embankment west of Western Avenue hitting a utility pole head on.

The other three passengers Brittany Williams, 29, Randy Ross, 42 and Henry Brooks IV 42 also died.

Hargrays starred at Marshall as a prep where he earned All-State honors ahead of playing collegiately at Arizona State and Louisiana Tech.

2017 Illini Bluffs F Taylor Bruninga Adds Northern Iowa Offer

Northern Iowa is the latest school to offer class of 2017 Illini Bluffs standout Taylor Bruninga.

Bruninga, a skilled 6’9 forward, has become a popular target for Division I programs during a senior season that has seen him up some eye-popping numbers.

Bruninga now holds offers from Northern Iowa, Illinois State and Eastern Illinois.

Bruninga competed on the travel team circuit with the Illinois Irish.

Chasson Randle Inks Three-Year Deal With Philly

Former Rock Island High School standout and 2011 Illinois co-Mr. Basketball Chasson Randle has signed a three-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Philadelphia had inked Randle to a pair of 10-day contracts ahead of signing him to a new deal.

Randle’s contract will be guaranteed for the remainder of this season. Philadelphia will hold team options for the final two years of the deal with dates that will trigger guarantees in the final two years.

Randle, Jahlil Okafor (Chicago Whitney Young), Robert Covington (Proviso West) and Richaun Holmes (Lockport) give the Sixers roster a heavy flavor of former Illinois high school stars.
