Texas Latest To Offer Edwardsville PG Mark Smith

Class of 2017 Edwardsville High School standout Mark Smith has now added a scholarship offer from Texas to his collection.

Texas head coach Shaka Smart checked in on Smith, a red-hot 6’4 point guard, at Edwardsville earlier in the day.

The Texas offer is the latest in a long line of offers for Smith that also includes California, Butler, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Missouri, Kansas State and DePaul to name a few.

Smith competed on the travel team circuit with Ramey/Jets United.

2018 Simeon G Kezo Brown Adds Oakland Scholarship Offer

Class of 2018 Chicago Simeon standout Kezo Brown has now added a scholarship offer from Oakland to his collection.

Brown, a 6’2 guard, knocks down shots with both range and accuracy. He is in the midst of a strong junior season teaming with Evan Gilyard (UTEP) and junior wing Talen Horton-Tucker to lead Simeon.

Towson, Kent State and UIC are also among Brown’s offers since the summer.

Catholic League Tournament Semifinals Now Set

The semifinal match-ups are now set for the Chicago Catholic League Tournament.

Ramar Evans and Loyola will battle Jamal Nixon, Jacob Keller, D.J. Steward and Fenwick in the first game. Mike Shepski and Brother Rice will take on Marquise Walker and St. Joseph in the second contest.

Games will take place at Fenwick

5:30 p.m. Fenwick vs. Loyola
7:00 p.m. Brother Rice vs. St. Joseph

Jerome Randle Named Australian NBL MVP

Former Chicago Hales Franciscan standout Jerome Randle (California) has been named MVP of the NBL in Australia.

Randle averaged 21.0 points and 5.3 assists per game for the Adelaide 36ers.

Randle was part of a 2006 recruiting class in the state of Illinois that also included Sherron Collins (Kansas/NBA), Patrick Beverley (Houston), JaVale McGee (Golden State) and Jon Scheyer (Duke), Mario Little (Kansas), Willie Veasley (Butler), Osiris Eldridge (Illinois State), Joevan Catron (Oregon) and Jeremie Simmons (Ohio State).

Randle competed on the AAU circuit with Ferrari as a prep. Randle dedicated his season and MVP to Donzelle Starks.
