2017 Belleville East Wing Javon Pickett Requests Release From Illinois

Class of 2017 Belleville East standout Javon Pickett has asked for a release from his Letter of Intent to the University of Illinois.

Pickett, a 6’4 wing, averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest this past high school season.

Pickett had recently been thought to be solid with his commitment to Illinois. His decommitment leaves the Illini with Florida guard Trent Frazier and Peoria Manual guard Da’Monte Williams left in their 2017 recruiting class. Jeremiah Tilmon decommitted earlier in the week.

Lake Forest Academy Standout Chris Harris Commits To Missouri S&T

Lake Forest Academy standout Chris Harris has committed to play his college basketball for Missouri S&T.

Harris, a 6’3 wing, averaged 22 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds per contest en route to leading Lake Forest Academy to a 19-win season.

Harris competed on the Under Armour circuit with the Illinois Wolves.

Talen Horton-Tucker Adds Offer From Texas A&M

Class of 2018 Chicago Simeon standout Talen Horton-Tucker has added a scholarship offer from Texas A&M to his collection.

Horton-Tucker, a 6’5 wing, ranks as the #2 overall prospect in the Illinois class of 2018.

Iowa State, DePaul, Missouri, Northwestern, Arizona State, UIC, Toledo and Loyola have all previously offered.

Horton-Tucker competes on the Nike EYBL circuit with the Mac Irvin Fire.

2017 Edwardsville PG Mark Smith Adds Kentucky Offer

Class of 2017 Edwardsville High School standout Mark Smith has now added a scholarship offer from John Calipari and Kentucky to his collection.

Smith, a 6’5 point guard, is the reigning Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois and one of the top uncommitted seniors nationally.

Smith averaged 21.9 points, 8.4 assists and 8.2 rebounds per contest this past season.

Kentucky has a need for backcourt talent with DeAaron Fox, Malik Monk, Isaiah Briscoe all declaring for the NBA draft.

Smith will visit Michigan State this weekend with Illinois, Missouri, Northwestern, Kansas State and Ohio State all also in hot pursuit.
