Demarius Jacobs Picks Up Offer From St. Louis

Demarius Jacobs has been offered a scholarship by St. Louis head coach Travis Ford.

Jacobs, a 6’3 guard, has transferred from Chicago Uplift to prep heavyweight Hillcrest Academy (AZ). He was signed with SIU until he decided to do a year of prep school, as well as to re-open his recruitment.

Jacobs was electric at times this past weekend with the Mac Irvin Fire at the Indianapolis stop of the Nike EYBL. Jacobs put his athleticism and ability to explode to the rim on full display.

Jacobs is averaging 15.9 points per game through eight games for the Mac Irvin Fire in Nike EYBL games.

Bolingbrook Sophomore Tyler Cochran Picks Up Western Michigan Offer

Class of 2019 Bolingbrook High School standout Tyler Cochran of the Hoopers Bball Club has picked up a scholarship offer from Western Michigan.

Cochran, a 6’2 sophomore, emerged as a major force during the high school season for Bolingbrook, and has continued his strong play this spring with the Hoopers Bball Club.

The offer is the first for Cochran, who will be among the headliner’s for a Bolingbrook team that is again expected to be among the best in the state in 2017-18.

Indian Hills G Karl Harris (De La Salle) Decides On Northern Arizona

Indian Hills Community College (IA) standout Karl Harris (Chicago De La Salle) has decided on Northern Arizona as his new collegiate destination.

Harris, a 6’5 wing, transferred into Indian Hills this season after spending his freshman year in the Atlantic 10 Conference at LaSalle.

Harris averaged 4.1 points on 44.9% shooting from the field this season at Indian Hills.

NIU Adds Lamar Chapman To Staff As Assistant Coach

Lamar Chapman has joined head coach Mark Montgomery’s staff at Northern Illinois as an assistant coach.

Chapman has been an assistant coach at Stony Brook for the past nine years.

Chapman has previously worked at Central Michigan and Toledo, so he is familiar with the MAC.

UNLV Transfer Zion Morgan Signs With Wabash Valley College

UNLV transfer Zion Morgan (Chicago Kenwood) has signed to play for head coach Mike Carpenter and Wabash Valley College.

Morgan, a versatile 6’4 guard, averaged 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest this past season as a freshman at UNLV. His best game was a 12-point, 6-rebound effort against Wyoming.

Morgan averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 assists and 2.2 steals per game en route to helping to lead Chicago Kenwood to a 22-5 record as a senior in 2015-16.

Wabash Valley is coming off of a strong 2016-17 season which saw them advance all the way to the District 16 title game. The 2016-17 roster included Chicago area products DeAngelo Isby (Hillcrest), who is headed to Utah State, T.J. Parham (Marian Catholic), Jordan Bell (Chicago Vocational), Jovanni Harrell (Oak Park-River Forest) and Erion Moore (Chicago Hales Franciscan).
