Raekwon Drake Picks Up Cleveland State Scholarship Offer

Class of 2018 Chicago Orr standout Raekwon Drake of Team Rose has picked up a scholarship offer from Cleveland State.

Drake, a mega-athletic 6’5 forward, is a two-way difference-maker who averaged 15.5 points per game en route to helping to lead Orr run to the Class 2A state title in March.

Drake is averaging 8.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game with Team Rose on the Adidas circuit this spring. Drake closed out action this past weekend with a 14-point, 11-rebound, 3-blocked shot effort in a win over the Ohio Basketball Club.

T.J. Smith Picks Up Scholarship Offer From Missouri State

Former Marian Catholic standout T.J. Smith (Wesley Christian, KY) of the Illinois Wolves has picked up a scholarship offer from Missouri State.

Smith, a 6’8 class of 2018 wing, is coming off of a solid showing at the Indianapolis stop of the Under Armour circuit this past weekend including a 21-point, 7-rebound effort against New Heights.

2020 Standouts Nimari Burnett, Adam Miller Pick Up Illini Offers

Class of 2020 standouts Nimari Burnett (Chicago Morgan Park) and Adam Miller (Peoria Manual) have picked up a scholarship offers from Illinois. Burnett and Miller both play up on the Nike EYBL circuit with the 16U Mac Irvin Fire.

Burnett, a 6’5 guard, is fresh off of capping off a strong freshman year by scoring 24 points, including six three-pointers, in Morgan Park’s 3A state title game win over Fenwick.

Miller, a 6’2 guard, is also fresh off of a strong freshman high school season.

Five players within the Mac Irvin Fire organization now have a scholarship offer from new Illini head coach Brad Underwood.

Wabash Valley College Lands Cam Gross, Anthony Cameron and Marcus Garrett

Head coach Mike Carpenter and Wabash Valley College have now added Cam Gross (Oak Park-River Forest), Anthony Cameron (Chicago Hyde Park) and Marcus Garrett (Hillcrest) to their 2017 recruiting haul.

Gross, a 6’6 forward, Cameron, a 6’8, 260-pound center, and Garrett, a 6’1 guard join a Wabash class that also has UNLV transfer Zion Morgan (Chicago Kenwood) signed as the program continues to have great success recruiting the Chicago area.

Wabash Valley finished the 2016-17 season with a 23-9 record and advanced to within one game of advancing to the National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Sam Shafer Picks Up Scholarship Offer From SIU

Class of 2018 Lincoln-Way East standout Sam Shafer of Young & Reckless has picked up a scholarship offer from SIU.

Shafer, a 6’6 wing, brings excellent size and an ability to get buckets all over the floor to the table. He picked up the offer while taking an unofficial visit to the SIU campus.

The offer is the first Division I offer for Shafer.

Shafer has followed up a superb junior year at Lincoln-Way East with an equally strong run with Young & Reckless on the Powerade circuit this spring.
